Accessibility statement

Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use launchgatehq.com: with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoomed in, in either colour theme, or with motion turned off. Here's what we aim for, what we've done, what we know isn't right yet, and how to tell us.

Our target

WCAG 2.2, level AA

We aim for this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

This statement covers launchgatehq.com. Our Privacy Policy and Terms are hosted on vendstopllc.com and aren't covered here.

It is based on our own checks. The site has not yet been reviewed by an independent accessibility specialist.

Your settings

What this site picks up from your device

The site reads these settings and adapts to them. Nothing here is stored or sent anywhere.

  • Reduced motion

    Needs JavaScript to show

When it's on, animations stop at their final frame: no scanner sweeps, counters or sliding panels.

  • Colour theme

    Needs JavaScript to show

The site follows your system's light or dark setting until you pick one with the theme button in the menu bar.

  • Forced colours

    Needs JavaScript to show

In high-contrast modes, status labels, buttons and cards keep visible outlines.

What we've done

How the site is built

  • Clear structure

One main heading per page, headings in order, labelled landmarks, and a “Skip to main content” link.

  • Keyboard first

Every link and control works with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring. Dialogs keep focus inside and return it when they close.

  • Contrast in both themes

Text colours were chosen and checked for at least 4.5:1 contrast in the dark and the light theme.

  • Never colour alone

Every status and severity has an icon and a text label, so “blocker” and “pass” don't rely on red and green.

  • Large targets

Buttons, menu links and form controls are built to at least 44 by 44 pixels. Switches, checkboxes and answer options respond across their whole row.

  • Calm motion

Reduced motion gives a static version of every animation. Nothing flashes, and there is no autoplaying audio or video.

  • Works without scripts

Content stays readable with JavaScript off: tabbed panels show in full and expandable sections start open.

  • Zoom and reflow

Text uses relative sizes, so browser zoom and text-size settings work, and layouts rearrange down to phone width.

  • Labelled forms

Every field has a label, and errors are written out in text next to the field they belong to.

Keyboard

Using the site with a keyboard

The first press of Tab on any page shows a link that skips straight to the main content.

KeyWhat it does
Tab Shift + TabMove forward or back between links and controls
EnterFollow a link or press a button
SpacePress a button or flip a switch
← →Move between tabs, such as the stations on the methodology map, and move sliders
Home EndJump to the first or last tab
EscClose a dialog, drawer or the mobile menu; focus goes back to what opened it

Known limitations

What we know isn't right yet

  • Sample report PDF. The PDF copy of the sample report may not work well with every screen reader. Use the web version of the sample report instead, or email us.
  • Interactive demonstrations. The scanner, risk simulator and before-and-after sliders on the home page are new. They're built for keyboards and screen readers, but if one doesn't work with your set-up, please tell us.
  • Small text links. Links in the contents list of an article are smaller than 44 pixels in height. They work with a keyboard and with zoom.
  • Email requests. Request forms open your email app. If you don't have one set up, nothing will open; email hello@launchgatehq.com directly.
  • Other sites. Pages on vendstopllc.com and the sources our articles link to are outside this statement.

How it's checked

Checks before anything is published

Automatic, on every build

  • Exactly one main heading on each page
  • Alternative text on every image
  • No duplicate IDs, so labels and controls stay linked
  • No inline scripts or event handlers
  • No broken internal links or anchors

By hand

  • Keyboard-only use, with focus visible throughout
  • Phone, tablet and wide-desktop widths
  • Both colour themes
  • Reduced motion turned on
